Lace and Full Skirt!

The first post of the New Year is an outfit pic of what I wore to welcome 2011! Full grey skirt and black lace top with buttons in the back, both from H&M and my new booties that I bought in an amazing reduced price from the Greek brand Fullah Sugah!

The fact that the skirt has pockets made it much easier for me to carry around my cellphone without having to worry about my glass of wine or my purse! Thumbs up!

Baby blue/pink

So, apparently it seems like no one could get away without "the Sotiris Georgiou Outfit Post". Lopi and Elena already posted their outfits today, and now it's my time to do it!

As the show took place at Cine Dexameni at Lykabettus and we were lucky enough to see some rays of light at the end, the spot with the trees and flowers near the cinema seemed ideal for a quick picture! Despite the fact that the temperature was almost 18 °C, I decided to wear my jean shorts mixed with a knitted pink sweater to keep me warm! As for the rest of the outfit, Nine West ankle boots and vintage bag that I got from the last SWAP party!

You must be bored by now of viewing again and again these ankle boots but the truth is that they are the most comfortable shoes with heels that I own! As for the pink sweater, it has a long long history as I have it more that 10 years! It's "Zara Girls,14-16". I didn't wear it that much during school as I found the pink color "too girly" for my "all-black" phase, but it still fits perfectly and I finally wore it with great pleasure! Me throwing away clothes? Naaaah!

Special Thanks to Christiana for taking my picture

Black and white

Two days ago I visited the showroom of a certain brand and had the opportunity to view the entire Fall/Winter 2010-11 collection before some pieces even hit the stores! I fell completely in love with this dress in particular as it has the peeerfect fit! Can you spot the dress? Can you guess what's coming?

Well, be patient, in a couple of days I'll reveal it all!

September at the Park

It is quite amazing but parks in the center of Athens DO exist!.. And I was amazed to discover this particular park today despite the fact that I pass right in front of it every morning and afternoon on my way to and back from my work!

Situated at "Megaro Mousikis", today I found my secret garden and I took good advantage of it as I was along with a friend and able to take some proper outfit pics! From head to toe:

tee from SWAP (Swap Not Shop)
skirt from TUBE
jelly shoes
and "b." bag...

...that has become my new best friend as from the moment that I bought it, it goes everywhere with me! b. is a well-known Greek graffiti artist and you can find his canvas bags at Metropolis Concept Store in an astonishing price!

Pāreu

I'm back to Athens only for two days and I'm more than happy to leave again to the islands as the heat is unbearable!
These two photos were taken at a beach at Antiparos and the laziness of the outfit reflects the laziness of the moment! Well..when on vacation I cannot even think of stylish outfits, especially when on the beach! I just wear my bikini and my "pareo" and spend as more hours at the beach as I can!

That said, I googled the word pareo in search of other relevant words and I came across the wikipedia pāreu term! "The pāreu or pareo is the Cook Islands and Tahitian word for a wraparound skirt. The Tahitian pāreu are among the most colourful and bright of the Pacific. Originally flower patterns, the hibiscus flowers in particular, or traditional tapa patterns, were printed in bright colours on a cotton sheet. No pins, magnets or other means are used. Only when as dress worn around the neck or shoulders, ends are knotted together. "

A touch of Tahiti is never out of style I guess!

Bday Party!

Bloggers united once more! Yesterday, ermoumag had a party and as one of the editors, I was there, too! Fellow fash bloggers, Christiana, Thalia, Queen B and Nina came to wish us and we had the chance to catch up like the oooold times (we almost know each other for a year now and it's amazing how many things we have done all these months!)!
Before leaving, me and Nina found an empty room and here is our outfit post! Unluckily the other girls had already gone, but I'm telling you they were dressed to impress-as always!

Maria Mastory

No words necessary for Maria Mastori. For the ones of you that follow this blog, you already know my love and appreciation for the Mastori-Motwary team! (see this and this)

So it was a few days ago, that "Fashion Paths" Christie informed me that she was going to pay a visit at the M/M atelier, and i couldn't resist from telling her to buy for me this piece of art! Luckily it wasn't sold out and after an hour it became mine forever!

Stay tuned as Maria Mastori is going to throw a Xmas bazaar really soon!

Christopher Kane mania

Blame Christopher Kane! He started it all! His gorilla dresses were crazy enough to make even the most "quiet" dressers change up their minds and actually try them on!!!!
And "Once you take Topshop, you own the world!"...well i just made this up, but i think that it's actually true! Christopher Kane for Topshop is now online and he continued the craziness by actually designing a much more affordable version of his gorilla dress, the "Crocodile print T-shirt".(see pic on the right)
Here in Greece we don't have Topshop (i'm not ungrateful, i know we have to be thankful at least for being able to shop online). So, H&M was kind enough to present another version of these clothes that have life of their own! And i have to say that it was love at first sight as i much more like the view of the sea that actually wearing a little monster on me!

each and every trip

so this was the dress that during the holidays became my second skin! Cyclades are known for the windy weather and so the long sleeves made it perfect to wear all day long.
also, sweet C. from Fashion Paths has tagged me some time ago and now i find the time and space to write the 10 things that you most probably don't know about me!
fellow fash bloggers have already taken the challenge and it seems like there are no more girls to tag! so, I'll only tag Giorgia from StyleForStyle for the time being!

1.I'm left handed and an only child. (if left handed people are known to be creative, imagine how creative an only child can be when there are no other sisters-brothers around to play with!)

2.I love love loooove travelling. From a very young age i wanted to move abroad. last year i managed to get an Erasmus scholarship and live for half a year in Milan. Despite that, i have traveled in many places around Europe and my most recent trip was in Cuba! Next dream destinations are Amsterdam and New York.

3.I have never heard the term before, but Alecca Rox was enlightening enough! I'm a flexitarian. For those who still don't know the term, that means that I'm a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat.

4.I'm a hi-tech freak. I love my laptop, my brand new notebook, and at times i find life too boring without Internet!

5.I have studied economics despite the fact that my first university choice was architecture. Although i find economics a very boring subject, i think that advertising may be a job that could suit me. At least the creative part of advertising.

6.From a very young age i draw. In fact at the age of 6, Rodi magazine (a magazine that shut down after some years) had published a picture that i had designed. Some years later, i went at Hellenic Children's' Museum where a then famous painter wanted to teach us his tecnics and after the class ended he asked me if i could give him my painting so that they would hang it on the walls of the museum. I was too stubborn to give my "creation" away! Now many years later i regret that choice.

7.I am a Harry Potter-the books- fan! My favourite is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which i have read more that 5 times! I have bought the last three books in English as i couldn't wait 5 months for the translation in Greek and i finished the last book in just one night!

8.Melina Merkouri and Audrey Hepburn are two women that i would love to meet in person.

9.I'm an American-teen-movie lover! in my all-time favourite movies list are she's all that, how to lose a guy in 10 days and 10 things i hate about you.

10.I listen to music depending on the mood, but singers-bands that always are in my i-pod are Coldplay,James, Norah Jones and Jack Johnson.

bdays and bad studying days

we are in the middle of summer-OFFICIALY! sun, sea, mojitos by the beach and all those things that make summer in greece ideal! And while some of my friends have already started their vacations or their plans for vacations i'm in the middle of my summer exams. (hopefully the last ones of my university "career"). So as you can imagine, i can't enjoy summer in the city yet! what i can do is take small breaks from my studying and try to make the most of them! Yesterday it was Kosmos Festival and some days ago was the bday party of a friend of mine!
After spending so many hours at home studying, i've developed a new unhealthy habit,of being a lazy-dresser! thank god it's summer and all you have to do is throw on a little dress and your favourite gladiator sandals and off you go!
This was the outfit i wore for the bday party!

all the buddies

What a lovely day it is the one that you wake up with a gift parcel waiting to be opened! this tee was specially sent to me by StyleForStyle's Giorgia! I may have mentioned before that half last year i lived in Milan and all that time i was searching for Italian fashion blogs unsuccessfully! As they say, great things come unexpectedly and so it had to be a year later that i discovered Giorgia's blog and not only was it the first Italian blog i found, not only was it lovely but there was also a StyleForStyle e-shop ! I instantly fell in love with this particular tee and Giorgia was kind enough to sent it to me! Visit her blog and definitely her e-shop as i'm having a feeling that these tee's are going to be the next hip thing!

after graduation

some days ago a friend of mine graduated! for celebrating the degree he took us all to an italian restaurant! before leaving i found the time to take a quick photo and later on i realised that the sky behind me had the most amazing colors thanks to the sunset! weirdly i wasn't in the mood for a dress or a skirt and even more weirdly i was in the mood for heels! (i don't do heels often although i'm a lover).the rest of the outfit was quite simple as u can see.

don't forget

some days ago a huge envelope arrived home! when i opened it, i was pleased to find out that i was been sent the t shirt you see me wearing above with the message "don't forget". For more than a week now, you could and-still can- see the message "be an ally" under my header! now it's time to explain everything!

Fashion targets breast cancer began in 1994 as the U.S fashion industry's response to breast cancer. Inspired by Ralph Lauren in memory of his late friend Nina Hyde, The Washington Post columnist who died of breast cancer, the campaign became an ongoing initiative of the CFDA Foundations-the philanthropic division of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Fashion targets breast cancer Hellas joined the global trend in June 2001!
This year at 26th of June, all women will wear their target t-shirts and declare for one more time a future without the fear of breast cancer. What all you can do, is not only wear the t-shirt at the 26th but also make orders now for your friends, family and colleges. with orders of more than 10 tshirts you get the chance to receive target gifts. After you receive the t-shirts you can gather up for a photograph of you and your friends wearing the target tee's and by sending that pic to ginesimmaxos@estohos.gr, your pic will be shown at the www.ginesimmaxos.gr site! You can enter the site for further info! Exciting isn't it?

Greek fashion bloggers support the cause and with the photo above I'm showing you 2 ways i chose to wear the t-shirt!

(trivia fact:except the 3 target pics, all other pics shown hanging on the wall are actually hanging on my bedroom wall)

i heart glamour

just realised that this is my first outfit post! no i haven't changed the theme of this blog. it still is news-photo shoots-based! it's just that some days ago i saw on glamour magazine's twitter, editor-in-chief Polina Sarri wearing an "i love glamour" t-shirt that i immediately loved! that same day while talking on the phone with AleccaRox i told her that i thought it would be nice if all we bloggers that were featured in Amalia's Agathou article "fashion bloggers gr", wore the t-shirts and took pictures of ourselves!
2-3 days later, Amalia herself mailed me telling me the exact same thing! you can now see that with a project like that i was more than pleased to grab the camera and while enjoying the sun take some pictures of myself wearing the tee!!!
you can all do the same, Amalia told me that in Glamour's next issue, they are thinking of posting pictures of readers wearing the tshirt!

and yes it's true...i heart glamour!
